Hi Counting Stuff Readers!!

Let me thank you for your continued support while being involuntarily dragged with me on this journey. Today became the big, largely unplanned-but-we're-doing-it-anyway day where we move to a self-hosted Ghost instance. We're way ahead of schedule because I've decided it was better to move now instead of overthink things to "get it right".

Hopefully you find this email in your actual inbox and not your spam box. If you do, please put [email protected] into your contacts so the spam filters know to avoid it. Administrative/notification/login emails come from [email protected]. It's a brand new domain, so even if I'm using a mass mail sending service there's bound to be hiccups involving things getting auto-filed into the spam box.

The other important thing is: I'm not 100% sure of all the subscription mechanics, so let me know if something's busted or unintuitive:

• If you'd like to unsubscribe, you need to log in w/ your email and turn on a switch to disable emails. There should also be unsubscribe links in the email footer.
• If you'd like to support my ongoing writing, please pay for a subscription at a tier you're comfortable with. No hard feelings if you don't. Most of the "good content" is free.
• If you've got an existing subscription from Substack, the fact that you're a paid subscriber should have been ported over and linked. I 'm working on the Stripe migration w/ Substack support. In the meanwhile, I'm not 100% sure how you can unsubscribe from that but I assume it's in your logged-in settings too (or perhaps through Stripe itself).
• If there's issues, please just email me and I can go in and fix things for you manually. That includes refunds, no questions asked.

Expect things to be messy while I play with designs, get new logos, fix issues. We literally had a funky HTTP/HTTPS redirect loop issue within the first minute.

But otherwise, we did it. This time I can actually guarantee the person who owns and run the server doesn't support right-wing nutjobs, Nazis, nor many other horrible things. 🎉
